Meet Jacob

About Jacob

Hi, I'm Jacob, and I've been an electrician for 10 years, heading into the trade straight out of school.

Throughout my career, I've had the opportunity to work across a wide range of electrical fields. I completed my apprenticeship in commercial construction and service before moving into residential electrical work, where I've been able to further develop my skills, refine my attention to detail and continue growing my passion for the trade.

For me, being an electrician is about more than just getting the job done. It's about doing quality work, taking pride in what I do and providing a service I'm happy to put my name behind.

Outside of electrical, I'm passionate about 4x4ing / camping and triathlons. I enjoy the challenge of pushing myself, learning new things and always striving to improve — both personally and professionally.

The Story Behind J Scott

J Scott Electrical has a meaning that is very close to home.

The "J" is for Jacob, while Scott honours my late father. My father's enduring love, kindness and the example he left behind has had a lasting impact on who I am today. J Scott Electrical was created not only as a business, but as a way of carrying a part of his name and the values he gave me forward.

It's a legacy I'm proud to continue — through the way I work, the way I treat people and the quality of service I provide to every customer.

Called Jacob out for an intermittent fault on our oven that had been hit-or-miss for weeks — the kind of problem that's genuinely hard to pin down because it wasn't happening on demand. He worked through it methodically rather than just guessing, tracked it back to the actual cause, and had it sorted properly rather than a quick patch that'd have us calling someone out again in a month.

Polite, punctual, and easy to deal with the whole way through — explained what was going on in plain terms without any of the usual jargon, and left the place as tidy as he found it. You can tell he actually knows his trade rather than just following a checklist.
